As an astrologer, it is important to admit one’s bias up front. I am looking for signs of hope that our long national nightmare might soon be over. The basis for my forecast is the solstice chart for Wash DC as well as transits to both the USA chart* and Donald Trump’s chart*. There are MANY signs that we will free ourselves of this president!  Have hope!

Cancer on the Ascendant focuses the populace on issues surrounding national security, preservation of national integrity, and identity in ways that can be interpreted as both positive and negative. The sign of Cancer helps us reach into our history of struggle, revolution, civil war to end slavery, and movements for civil rights to help turn us away from increasing authoritarianism and white supremacist ideology. Our familial ancestors, each in their own ways, struggled, sacrificed, fought, and even died to lift themselves out of subjugation of many kinds and to escape from tyranny. Another chapter in our history book is being written now and we draw on wells of strength and fortitude residing in our very DNA to move ourselves out of this darkness. Many feel inspired by our familial and national history and act out of deep desire to protect, secure, and preserve what is best about our nation as well as make continued progress towards our founding ideals.

The ruler of the ASC is the Gemini Moon which represents our diverse populace. This Moon sits in the 12th house in exact square to the vertical axis.  We the people feel powerless, sequestered and excluded from our own government.  YET – with the strong square to the MC/IC we are directly plugged in to the parties that are battling it out in Washington. This is potent symbolism for the polarization that has gripped the nation. There is a continued groundswell of democratic activism. The people find ways to raise their voices. Some people turn to clandestine groups and activities that can be described as sabotage, espionage, and even terrorism to exert influence. Secretive groups continue to try to influence the citizens through continued propaganda and psy-ops.

The President and the GOP are represented by the 10th house, Pisces MC.  MC = midpoint of MARS/NEP.  Mars conjoins the MC.  Pisces indicates continued chaos, confusion, dissolution, corruption, secret dealings, and the self-undoing of the Trump administration. There is a glamorization of war and the military with a strong risk of military actions to prop up the egos of those in power. The president feels embattled, often goes on attack against those perceived as weaker. He plays out the role of “heroic victim” trying to solicit sympathy and support while viciously attacking any who would criticize him.

The ruler of the 10th is the Sagittarian Jupiter, conjunct Mercury, in the 6th house. The president aligns himself with the (white) working class, law enforcement, and the military. He tries to maintain a strong bond with them with continued rousing rhetoric. JUP conj MERC = UR/PL, a very explosive midpoint. I see his continued stoking of civil unrest and invitations to violence, likely resulting in more shocking events. Seeing UR/PL midpoint is in the 9th house, judges, journalists, and religious groups are likely continued targets.

Congress is represented by Aries on the 11th house cusp. Mars sits in the 10th conjunct the MC indicating that Congress leads the fight against the Trump administration. Mars in Pisces attacks by undermining, causing self-doubt, eroding support, and championing the marginalized and vulnerable. Taurus is intercepted in the 11th,representing a secondary agenda of practical matters – the environment, infrastructure, the economy. The secondary ruler, Venus in the 5th, indicates sports and entertainment figures line up powerfully behind congressional initiatives concerning these items.

Uranus in the 11th house of congress is square to the lunar node and at the same nodal degree, making it highly charged this season. Radical change comes to congress and is instigated by congress. New members of congress were voted in on a wave of activism fired up to change things. Congress will instigate and respond directly to upsets and shocks affecting us, the collective (lunar nodes), who will be forever bonded by moving through this emotional upheaval together. This echoes a national historical experience akin to the Watergate hearings.

What will happen with the Mueller investigation and the rule of law?  Will Trump be held accountable?  Will he be removed from office? Just what does the chart say about these matters?

he Judiciary, the DOJ, and the Rule of Law are represented by the 9th house. Aquarius rules this house, the sign of adherence to principles and ideals.  Saturn is the ruler and represents judges and prosecutors. Saturn in its own sign of Capricorn conjunct the Descendant also represents both foreign allies and adversaries due to its joint rulership of the 7th house. It is THE MOST POWERFUL PLANET IN THIS CHART. It sits at the midpoint of both SUN/PL and squares the midpoint of MARS/UR in the 10th house.

We are at war with ruthless adversaries who want nothing less than our complete destruction. We have allies who are all in with helping to save us. Robert Mueller is an extremely strategic, determined prosecutor determined to put a check on this administration’s abuse of power and bring down the entire foreign conspiracy against us.

The is a dangerous, explosive, and unpredictable time for the US. Looking at transits to both the chart for Donald Trump and the USA we see significant Saturn transits, indicating accountability, reaping what has been sown, and the restoration of integrity. At the same time, Jupiter crosses the DESC of the US chart, indicating our foreign allies give us considerable support, outweighing the actions of adversaries.

Saturn=ASC/MC midpoint of US chart on Dec 25th – we are at a critical juncture by the last week in Dec. Likely the information uncovered by Mueller will reveal the full extent of the conspiracy and criminal activity, demanding a response.

Saturn goes on to oppose the Sun the second week in January. This transit could symbolize that THE HEAD OF STATE IS DEPOSED (or impeachment is initiated, or he dies) and may simultaneously usher in an ECONOMIC RECESSION. Saturn moves on to square itself twice more in 2019  while we try to sort out the aftermath. Concurrently in Trump’s chart, transiting Saturn sits at ASC/MC the second week of January indicating he, too, is at a critical juncture. The planet of accountability and karma bears down on him. THERE IS NO ESCAPE from the consequences of his actions. He has to decide what to do. Whatever choices he makes will seal his fate.

Remember Mars conjunct the MC?  Mars, ruler of the 11th house which signifies congress? If Trump is ousted, perhaps that represents a member of congress becoming president? Nancy Pelosi becoming 46? That is certainly one possible interpretation!

One interesting detail about Trump’s natal chart – he has ASC conjunct the star Regulus at 29 Leo. The Renaissance astrologer Guido Bonatti wrote of this placement “This alone signifies that the Native shall be a person of great note and power, too much exalted, and attain to high preferment and honors, although descended from the meanest parents… whatever of all this happens…it signifies that the Native shall die an unhappy death; or at least that all his honors, greatness and power shall at last suffer an eclipse and set in a cloud.”
